- (July) The lab receives a grant from the Walther Cancer Foundation. This is the Tier 2 award of the Oncology Physical Sciences & Engineering Embedding Program (Co-PIs: Drs. C. Lin, M. Ivan, and H. Konig).
- (May) The Lab welcomes two summer students: Rishi Das (NSF REU program) and Anthony Tam (Indianapolis Project SEED/STEM program). They will be working on various aspects of bioengineered microgels for tissue engineering applications.

- (April) Congratulations to Matt on receiving a 2018 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) Fellowship to support his PhD research and education! Matt has also been offered a T32 Fellowship in the Bioengineering Interdisciplinary Training in Diabetes Research program in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University.

- (June) The lab says farewell to Krista and welcomes three new graduate students - Brent Hukill, John Bragg, and Camron Dawes.
- (June) Prof. Lin was invited to participate the 2015 US Frontiers of Engineering Symposium, an annual symposium held by the National Academy of Engineering. About 100 outstanding engineers under the age of 45 are invited to discuss cutting-edge developments in selected engineering topics.

- (July) The Lab receives another NIH R21 grant: Adaptable hydrogel platform to study pancreatic cancer. This is a collaborative project between the Lin Research Group and Dr. Murray Korc at IU School of Medicine.

- (April) The lab receives a FORCES (Funding Opportunities for Research Commercialization and Economic Success) grant from IUPUI OVCR to develop advanced hydrogel systems for simultaneous delivery of hydrophobic and hydrophilic drugs.

- (March) The lab receives an Indiana University Collaborative Research Grant (IUCRG) to develop 3D biomimetic hydrogels for functional liver tissue engineering. This work is a new research collaboration with Prof. Guoli Dai’s group in the Department of Biology at IUPUI Purdue School of Science.
